Travel by rail
You can get to York from London in less than two hours with services from both LNER and Grand Central. There are direct services from Birmingham and the South West. TransPennine Express runs direct train services from Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle.
Travel by car
York is just 20 minutes from the M1/M62 motorway network and is within comfortable driving times from many parts of the UK.
However, we suggest using public transport as parking is limited. The nearest pay and display is North Car Park but is often full from quite early on in the day. The machines accept contactless payment or payment made by phone.
Travel by air
York is close to four international airports:
Leeds/Bradford
Manchester
Humberside

You can book accommodation at Franklin House directly through the STEM learning centre at a reduced rate. Just email reception@stem.org.uk and quote Ref:1427 and the name of the conference to ensure a reduced delegate rate of £47+VAT. This is on a first come, first served basis.
